I’d like to introduce you to a new series that I’ll be posting on Saturdays called: Chic Notes! This will be a place for me to share notes about what’s going on in my life and in the world of Chic Presets. I’ll also post a few lifestyle shots from my activities throughout the week. I know that I’ve been slightly spotty with my posts lately so I plan to start releasing things on specific days to give you some consistency. Here is what I propose: Tuesdays: Free Preset Day, Wednesdays: Creative Edit Photoshoot (with weekly behind the scenes videos), Saturdays: Chic Notes… So, let’s get started. Well this week has been lovely so far! There was singing in the rain, fresh flowers, vintage shopping, and interior design. As you saw on Wednesday… I was singing (and dancing lol) in the rain for my weekly Creative Edit post. I never used to like the rain, in fact I would say that I down right detested it. That all changed one day when I was caught in an unexpected thunderstorm without an umbrella while walking home a few years back. The rain fall was light at first and I remember feeling wet and uncomfortable. As I continued on, the rain came down hard. You know the type of rain that floods the streets and is so loud that you can’t even hear yourself think? Ya, that type of rain! Eventually, I was soaking wet from head to toe and and found myself sloshing around in the flooded streets and avoiding huge title waves from cars that passed by. It was in that exact moment that I started to love the rain…because that is when I decided to let go. Letting go doesn’t come naturally for me, I am the type of person who likes to be prepared for anything and shutters at the thought of surprises! That day I simply decided to let go and allow myself to feel the rain without trying to control the situation. Surrendering yourself is a slightly foreign feeling at first, but after you’ve done it…you realize that it can be absolutely wonderful! So now I don’t mind the rain as much, in fact I quite like it…
Earlier in the week I picked up the gorgeous pink roses that you see in the pictures today as well as some white daisies to bring a little spring sunshine into our home. As I always say…fresh flowers can brighten even the darkest days. Yesterday I went vintage clothes shopping so that I’ll have something to wear for our Europe trip that’s coming up in June. More on that at a later date, but for now I will share that I found some stunning pieces that will be seen in the Created Edit posts that we plan to shoot in places like Rome and Paris next month. Finally, let’s get to the interior design. If you know me on a personal level, you’ll know that interior design is something that makes me sublimely happy! We recently decided to change a few things up in our home and I’ve been having a blast picking out a new headboard, area rugs and table lamps. Photography, travel and interior design are my true passions in life! Well, I have lots in store for you next week with a delightful free preset on Tuesday and a dessert inspired creative edit on Wednesday. Until then…sweet dreams until sun beams find you!
Let's get chic!
