Hello again my gorgeous chic photographers! How have you been? What was your week like? I hope it was filled with laughter and lovely things! As you know from my previous posts, I’m working behind the scenes and making some changes to the back end of the site. I’m also preparing for my secret announcement that I plan to reveal on Saturday morning. Well, I wasn’t planning on taking any more photos this week, but when the cherry blossoms come calling…I simply must answer that phone call! This shot was taken with a Canon 5D, 50mm lens at f / 2.5, ISO 100, 1/125. The city that I live in is known for being a university town. On the grounds of this university, there is a road that leads to a recreational park. This long curvy road is lined with the most amazing cherry blossom trees I have ever seen! Last Sunday night we decided to hop in the car and take some shots before all of the pink petals began to fall. I had been scoping out this location for weeks…waiting for the right moment to strike! We had a rather late spring this year, so I was delighted when the blossoms finally decided to come out and play. As we drove down the road, the wind picked up and it began raining pink petals in front of our eyes! I rolled down the window, reached out my hand and caught a few. It was honestly one of those magical moments where you think to yourself…Am I dreaming? This is way too beautiful to be real! We took a number of photos and some video footage, which I plan to use for a future project. The funny thing is… I went by there again yesterday and all of the blossoms were already gone. There wasn’t even any petals left on the ground! I guess thats why they say that cherry blossoms are similar to life…both are beautiful and both are only around for a short period of time. Therefore we should appreciate and experience them to the fullest.
